Dick Grayson, originally known as Robin, is a prominent character in DC Comics. His first appearance as Robin was in *Detective Comics* #38 (1940). He began his crime-fighting career as Batman's young sidekick, trained in acrobatics and detective work by the Dark Knight himself.

As he matured, Dick sought to establish his own identity, eventually leaving Batman's shadow to become Nightwing. He chose the name Nightwing, inspired by a Kryptonian legend. As Nightwing, he operates primarily in Blüdhaven, protecting the city from its criminal underbelly.

Nightwing is a highly skilled martial artist and tactician, combining his acrobatic abilities with his combat prowess. He's also a natural leader, often working alongside other heroes and leading teams like the Teen Titans. The identity Red Wing is not a typical part of the Nightwing character's history.
